I do not have insurance. Do you offer a sliding fee scale?

Yes, we offer a sliding fee scale based on the number of dependents and your level of income. The sliding fee scale also varies depending on the level of service. Financial counselors will send you a notification of your awarded sliding fee scale discount and the reduced payment required at the time of service.

How much will services cost me?

Service cost is dependent on a number of things. Once an assessment is done and an appropriate course of treatment is recommended and approved, a better estimate of cost can be shared. It is dependent on the issue, the recommended course of treatment and your insurance.

Rates vary according to the credentials of your provider. An initial evaluation ranges from $156 - $200 and an hour-long individual therapy session ranges between $116 and $160. A short medication management visit with a physician is $80 and addiction treatment is $176 for each 3-hour group session. A detailed rate listing is available upon request from the front desk at any Porter-Starke Services office location.

Payment is due at time of service and you are required to pay your co-pay or co-insurance at that time. You will receive a monthly statement of any amount due after your insurance pays. If you are uninsured, sliding fee scales are available.

I received my statement, but I cannot afford to pay the balance in full. Do you offer a payment plan?

Yes, if you receive a statement and are not able to pay the entire balance, please contact Client Financial Services at 219.476.4546 to discuss payment plan options.

How do I get my medication refilled?

Please call your pharmacy to get your medication refilled. The pharmacy will then contact Porter‐Starke Services for authorization. A good time to start this refill process is when you have a seven day supply remaining. Expect 3‐4 days to get it refilled. This will ensure that you don’t run out of your medication.

How do I join a group?

Porter-Starke Services offers a wide array of therapeutic groups. These include children’s groups, parenting groups and grief counseling. Groups will be recommended only after receiving an assessment or an initial appointment with a therapist. Community partners such as the local chapter of Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance, Mental Health America of Porter County and the Porter County chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness offer support groups in the area.
