First Aid

Learn how to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis.

Creating a Healthier Community, Together

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is a training course that teaches you how to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. This 8-hour class is specifically designed to teach you the skills and understanding to better help adults or youth.

Learn risk factors, warning signs, how to develop an action plan, and the best resources for additional support or information.

Because of MHFA, people in all 50 states are trained how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and addiction. This course is delivered by staff at Porter-Starke Services who are certified Mental Health First Aid instructors.

Adult Mental Health First Aid

Adult MHFA trains you how to help someone 18 and older who may be experiencing a mental health problem or crisis. Learn warning signs, risk factors, how to develop an action plan, and how to access appropriate resources.

Youth Mental Health First Aid
